FAQ

Q:  Why are releases so irregular?

A:  While Evver Games enjoys some popularity, the project is little more than the hobby of a single lead developer.  The formalization of this hobby into an open source project benefits others, but also lacks the resources to provide regular updates, features, etc...

Q:  What features does the project include?

A:  Evver Games is geared towards the creation of multi-user card and tile games.  The last stable release of the project includes:
  • A rich card game framework implemented in Java
  • A web interface, written with Echo2 - a swing like API
  • Two card games - Golf and No Peeking

Q:  What is being planned for the project?

A:  The development version has shifted somewhat, this version's  features include:
  • A web interface written with Flex 3
  • Support for remote clients using an XML API

Q:  Is the source code to EvverGames available?

A:  Source code is available through the downloads area or through subversion access on SourceForge.  It is recommended that you use the source code from a release for all but the most bleeding edge development.  To check out projects from subversion, use the repository URL and then navigate to your desired project and version, and checkout that version.  Please be warned that any code in SVN may be under heavy development.
